“Blasphemic Reading Soirées” ist eine nomadische Plattform für zeitgenössischen Feminismus und ein Format, das (queer-)feministische Texte öffentlich zugänglich macht und Debattenkultur fördert.
2016 in Basel als Undergroundlesekreis gegründet, entwickeln die Macher_innen seit Frühjahr 2018 öffentliche Ereignisse. Unterschiedliche Formate und mediale Übersetzungen von Vorlesen und Zuhören ermöglichen einen experimentellen und performativen Zugang zu Texten, deren Fokus auf queerfeministischer Literatur, Popkultur und Theorie liegt. Die Soirées wurden von 2018 bis 2019 von Miriam Coretta Schulte und Katharina Brandl konzipiert und moderiert, Katharina ist seit 2021 im blasphemischen Ruhestand. 2019 erweiterte sich das Kernteam der Soirées (“Grandmotherboard”) um Saskia Läubli und Jonas Gillmann.
Seit 2021 bestehen die Blasphemic Reading Soirées zudem aus einem Netzwerk von Personen, die ebenso dem blasphemischen, gemeinsamen Lesen anhängen. Das “Motherboard” – also die inhaltliche Drehscheibe der Soirées – trifft sich regelmässig, um zu diskutieren, welche Themen und Methoden in die Abende einfliessen sollen. Der diverse Motherboard-Schwarm besteht aus Alessandro Schiattarella, Franca Schaad, Friederike Zenker, Golnaz Hosseini und Tyra Wigg.

„Blasphemic Reading Soirées“ is a nomadic platform for contemporary feminism and a format that makes (queer) feminist texts publicly accessible and promotes debate culture. Founded in Basel in 2016 as an underground reading circle, the creators have been developing public events since spring 2018. Different formats of collective reading and listening allow an experimental and performative approach to texts with a focus on queerfeminist literature, pop culture and theory. The soirées were conceived and moderated by Miriam Coretta Schulte and Katharina Brandl from 2018 to 2019; Katharina blasphemously retired in 2021. Saskia Läubli and Jonas Gillmann also joined the core team of the Soirées („Grandmotherboard“) in 2019.
Since 2021, the Blasphemic Reading Soirées have also consisted of a network of people who are equally drawn to blasphemic, collective reading. The „motherboard“ – that is, the gravitation center of the Soirées‘ – meets regularly to discuss what topics and methods should be the base of the evenings. Our diverse motherboard swarm consists of Alessandro Schiattarella, Franca Schaad, Friederike Zenker, Golnaz Hosseini and Tyra Wigg.
